More food for the mushrooms... There is so much disagreement on this that there is no way to truly know when "peak oil" will be reached. If we started drilling our own oil, we could produce more for the next century than has EVER been produced. Just keep telling the lies so the oil execs and shieks can get richer. Sure we'll believe 'em. NOT!

There they go again. Have to have bad news at least once a day to keep price up.

This from 1) people who will profit from scarce oil or 2) people who brought you global warming. Either way it's all BS!

End of oil??!!! Impossible!!! That would imply that we would actually drill our own resources. At least they should qualify the statement by stating "permissible oil".

National Geographic Magazine made a similar prediction a couple of years ago. Basically, all the "easy to get at" oil has been exploited. Remaining reserves will be harder and more costly to develop while overall demand keeps going up.

Unlock the reserves.
Drill domestically.
Let the EcoNutz walk.
Repair the broken commodities markets.

I like this statement : The only thing they all agree on: Oil is a finite and very valuable resource.
Though no one wants to conserve and think about spending efficiently

Sure, oil production will peak because, eventually there will be less demander for oil as a fuel source as more and more alternatives come on-line and into the mainstream. This isn't rocket science.

25 years ago this was predicted for 10 years ago. I think this is developed by the oil companies to scare the price up.

Predicting or speculating it all contributes to higher prices for oil. Lets just concentrate on developing alternatives then we will not have to predict.

How can they say we have reached peak Oil Reserves in the U.S.A.. when we haven't drilled in all places like Alaska and off the coast of California and Florida to know how much is really there? In the World they have found large Deposits off the coast of Brazil and Mexico and in the Gulf of Mexico. The Scientists and Researchers are just trying to scare us into going Green. Its just a Big Scam.

I agree that oil will run out but who can predict when that will happen but we do need to prepare for the depletion.

that means we should see the lowest imaginable prices in 2014, right?!?!?! Give me a break, you could wave a stick in the air and know as much as the other guy about oil pricing and production in 4 years.... Heck, I can tell you that in 2014 PRICES WILL STILL BE A TOTAL RIP OFF, they have been for years, and will continue- especially at this rate!!!!

Rick52, solar cells work from LIGHT and don't necessarily need direct sunlight.
If it is DAYTIME there is LIGHT, and if there is light the solar cell will produce a current, maybe not as much as when the sun is shining directly on them, but still some current.
Clouds don't stop all light from reaching us, if they did it would be dark during the daytime on cloudy days.

As the populations increase, the use of oil will only get larger until someone wakes up to realizing we need an alternative fuel. Solar power is the way to go.

Even if the conservative estimate of several decades is the correct prediction for peak World oil, there's not a moment to waste in finding replacements for that form or energy.

If we could get rid of the Libs and the Dems, we could start drilling right here and gas would drop to 30 cents a gallon. We've got more oil here in the US in proven, but untapped reserves than they do in the Middle East, but the tree huggers and the Dems won't let us drill here.
DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW!!!!
